Privacy Policy

This policy covers the North River Chiropractic website only. Your health information as a patient (your exam findings, X-rays, treatment notes, and billing records) is protected by the federal HIPAA law and handled under our separate Notice of Privacy Practices, not this page. You can ask for a copy of that notice by calling the office or asking at the front desk.

Please don’t send detailed medical information through email or social media messages. Regular email isn’t a secure channel. If you have a question about your care, give us a call at 941-933-1500 and we’ll talk it through.

Information you give us. When you request an appointment through the booking tool on our contact page, you’ll be asked for details like your name, phone number, email address, and the time you’d like to come in. If you call or email us, we’ll have whatever you choose to share in that conversation.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours records basic technical details when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you look at, how long you stay, and the site that sent you here. Most of this comes from cookies and similar tools described below.

We don’t ask you to create an account on this website, and we don’t sell anything through it.

• To schedule your appointment and contact you about it.
• To answer questions you send us.
• To understand which pages are useful and which aren’t, so we can keep improving the site.
• To measure how well our online ads work, and to show our ads to people who have visited the site before.
• To keep the website secure and running properly.

We use Google Tag Manager to run Google Analytics and Google Ads on this site. These tools set cookies in your browser that tell us things like how many people visited a page, roughly where visitors are located (city or region, not street address), and whether someone who clicked one of our ads went on to request an appointment. Google may also use this information to show our ads to you on other websites.

You have a few ways to limit this:

• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
• Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• Turn off personalized ads in your Google ad settings.

You can read more about how Google handles this data in Google’s own explanation. Blocking cookies won’t stop the site from working, though the booking tool may need them to finish a request.

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t rent or trade it to other businesses for their own marketing. We share it only with the companies that help us run the website and the office:

• ReviewWave, which runs our online appointment booking. Details you enter in the booking tool go to ReviewWave so it can pass your request to our office.
• Google, for analytics, advertising, and the map on our contact page.
• Our website hosting and content providers, which store and deliver the pages and images you see.

Each of these companies has its own privacy policy that governs what it does with data. We may also share information if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid court order.

Our site links to places like Google, Facebook, and Instagram. Once you leave our site, their privacy policies apply, not ours. If you follow or message us on social media, keep in mind those conversations happen on their platforms.

The site runs over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we work with established providers to handle booking and hosting. No website or internet connection is completely secure, though, so we can’t promise that information sent online will never be intercepted. That’s one more reason to keep medical details for a phone call or an office visit.

We care for patients of every age, newborns included, but this website isn’t meant to be used by children on their own. Appointments for anyone under 18 should be requested by a parent or guardian. If you think a child has sent us personal information through the site, let us know and we’ll delete it.

You can ask us what personal information we have from your use of this website, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call or email us using the details below and we’ll take care of it. (Requests about your medical records follow the HIPAA process in our Notice of Privacy Practices instead.)

If we change how the website handles information, we’ll update this page and the “last updated” date at the top.
