Why North River

What makes care here different

Mirror-image precision

Adjustments based on CBP and the Harrisons' mirror-image method, aimed at correcting alignment, not just relieving a symptom for a day.

We measure before we treat

Digital X-rays and postural analysis show us what's out of alignment before your first adjustment, so your plan is based on your spine.

Adjusting style that fits you

Manual, drop-table, and instrument adjusting are all available, gentle for kids and grandparents, firm for an athlete who wants it.

Dr. Edward Johns, DC

About Dr. Johns

A chiropractor who got here through injury, not theory.

It was an injury sustained during college football that first introduced Dr. Johns to chiropractic care. That recovery sent him to Palmer College of Chiropractic, where he earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic Magna Cum Laude. Since then he's worked with professional athletes across the NFL, NHL, MLB, ATP, and AMA, and today treats patients from newborns to the elderly, right here in Parrish.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

We'd rather you know what to expect before you walk in the door. If you don't see your question below, give us a call and we'll answer it directly.

What happens at my first visit?

We start with a real conversation about what's going on and your history. Then we take digital X-rays and run a postural analysis so we're looking at what's actually happening in your spine, not guessing. After that, we sit down and walk you through what we found and what a plan built around it looks like.

How often will I need to come in?

It depends on what we find. Someone correcting a long-standing structural issue usually needs more frequent visits up front than someone coming in for occasional wellness care. We'll tell you what we think you need after your exam, not before it.

What can chiropractic care actually help with?

Back and neck pain, sciatica, herniated or bulging discs, poor posture, headaches tied to your neck and spine, and sports injuries are what we see most. We also treat whiplash and soft tissue injuries from car accidents.

I've never been adjusted before. What does it feel like?

It depends on how you're adjusted, and we don't do one style for everybody. Dr. Johns adjusts by hand, with a drop table, or with an instrument, gentle for a kid or a grandparent, firmer for an athlete who wants it.

Do you treat kids and older adults?

Yes. Dr. Johns treats patients from newborns to the elderly and adjusts differently depending on age and what someone's spine needs.

I was in a car accident but I don't feel that hurt. Should I still come in?

Whiplash and soft tissue injuries often don't show up right away. If you were in an accident, it's worth getting checked. We evaluate for spinal trauma and soft tissue injury even when nothing feels obviously wrong yet.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Call us at 941-933-1500 or send a request through our contact form and we'll get you on the schedule.
